On Tuesday, the LA Lakers hopes to end their road trip game woes when they meet the lowly Washington Wizards. The Lakers took full advantage of playing 17 of its first 21 games at home, which they showed of their deadly championship form. But their second set of road games revealed some major flaws in the Lakers team. They are only 5-5 in their road games plus Ron Artest and Andrew Bynum are day-to-day with injuries. All-Star SG Kobe Bryant also has a slew of injuries but he still plays every game.
The Lakers team might have peak during their favorable home game schedule. Their physical defense is not there, and a little disarray whenever they set up their plays. The Lakers need to re-focus; they must play aggressively on both ends of the floor. This would be a great time for the Lakers to regroup when they meet the Wizards.
The Washington Wizards' season is not what the fans would have expected. Gilbert Arenas was suspended indefinitely by the NBA, slew of injuries have beset their starting players, inconsistent FG shooting percentage and non-performance of their bench players. These factors have hounded the Wizards this season. It greatly affected the focus and mental thinking of their players. The Wizards needs a fresh start or just simply push the exit button. There's still time for a change, the players must rise to the challenge, take it one game at a time and hopefully build again their confidence as the season progresses.
Even though the Lakers are not up to par with their abilities, they are still an 8-point favorite to beat the Wizards on Tuesday night.
