Cavs barge into the Eastern Conference FinalsMay 13, 2009 by Marc Jerbs

In the grueling NBA Playoffs, the Cleveland Cavaliers emerged as the first team to book a place in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Cavs completed their utter dominance by sweeping their matches against the Pistons and Hawks. A back-to-back sweep was far from their initial plans but it is a step closer to achieve a berth in the NBA Finals.

League-MVP Lebron James brought his full arsenal in the playoffs. He averaged 32.9 points per game courtesy of a 53.2% field goal shooting. In some games, he preferred to defer the scoring to his teammates as he averaged 6.8 assists per game. If Lebron continues to display his offensive tear and leadership character into the Eastern Conference Finals, the Cavaliers are the team to beat.

As the Cavaliers wait for the winner of the Celtics and Magic series, they have the chance to relax for a few days and heal some bumps and bruises incurred from their series against the Hawks. The Cavs have the home court advantage throughout the entire playoff and have a suffocating team defense.

Let's not forget about Mo Williams. He is the second-best player in the Cavs rotation. He averaged 14.8 points per game and had a 44.4 field goal shooting percentage. He is a timely addition in the Cavs lineup as it eases Lebron's work during the game.

The Cavs have all the tools to make a run in the NBA Finals. But along the way, there's one stumbling block, it could be the defending champs Celtics or the Howard-fueled Magic. These are the NBA Playoffs where amazing thing happens.
