The Cubs are 13-2 since the All-Star break and now leads the NL Central as they took it away from the collapsing Brewers.
Arizona has the 3rd best National League record but is 14 games back of the LA Dodgers in the NL West. Their postseason hopes rest on a wild-card spot which they will compete against the Colorado Rockies. Chicago will put the ball on left-hander Jon Lester to counter fellow Arizona's left-hander Patrick Corbin. John Lester has 2.05 ERA and has won all his three starts since the All-Star break. He'll make his 5th career start against Arizona and is 2-0 with 4.63 ERA.
Patrick Corbin is 8-9 with 4.36 ERA but has won his last two starts. In his last seven starts, he as a 2.81 ERA. By being effective in his last games, he has lowered his season ERA from 5.19 to 4.36.
