A day after Christmas, Kempton Park in Sunbury, England will host the King George VI Chase. It is a Grade 1 National Hunt chase which is open to horse aged four years or older. It will cover a total race distance of about 3 miles. Eighteen fences are along the track that will be jumped by each participating horses.
The King George VI Chase is considered as the 2nd most prestigious chase in England behind the Cheltenham Gold Cup. Seven horses confirmed their entry led by 2015 winner Cue Card.
Cue Card will be joined by stablemate Thistlecrack. Thistlecrack has passed all three his chase race with flying colors. An opportunity to topple stablemate and defending champion Cue Card is too hard to pass.
The horse race handicappers have installed Cue Card as the slight favorite to win the King George VI Chase for two consecutive years.
