On Thursday, the Copperleaf Golf & County Estate in Centurion, South Africa will host the Tshwane Open. This tournament will run until March 2.
The Tshwane Open is the eight and final tournament that will be held on South African soil. South Africans have won five of the seven events held in their home soil this season. Thomas Aiken, George Coetzee, Van der Walt, Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Scwartzel have won in their respective tournaments they have joined.
Defending champion Van der Walt will aim for a back-to-back title beginning Thursday. He is also in line as the first South African to win three European Tour titles on home soil.
The sportsbook handicappers have installed George Coetzee as the favorite to win the Tshwane Open. Romain Wattel and Thomas Aiken are among his strongest challengers in the tournament.
