On Thursday, the East London Golf Club in Eastern Cape, South Africa will host the 2014 Africa Open. The tournament will run until Sunday, February 16.
Since its inception, no player of another nationality has ever won this event. All former winners were South Africans. The maiden tournament was won by Shaun Norris followed by Retief Goosen, Charl Schwartzel.
Louis Oosthuizen won the tournament for two consecutive years from 2011 to 2012. Darren Fichardt will return and compete as the defending champion.
The sportsbook handicappers have installed Thomas Aiken as the favorite to win the Africa Open. Jaca Van Zyl, Gregory Bourdy and Darren Fichardt are among his possible competitors.
