2013 MLB Season:Texas Rangers vs. New York YankeesJune 25, 2013 by Marc Jerbs

On Tuesday, the New York Yankees will host a three-game series against the AL West leader Texas Rangers. The first game will start at 7:05PM ET and will be held at the Yankee Stadium.

Texas currently leads the AL West with a 44-33 record and has a 5-game winning streak on the line. They have a respectable 22-17 road record but seem to struggle when they play at Yankee Stadium.

Yu Darvish will pitch for the Rangers and he hopes to stop his six winless starts since May 16. Despite his 2.66 ERA, Darvish tend to give easy runs against their opponent. It was evident in his last game against Oakland; he struck out 10 but allowed five runs over six innings in a 6-2 loss.

The New York Yankees sits in 2nd place with a 41-34 record and is just 2.5 games behind over AL East leader Boston Red Sox. New York plays well at home whenever they face Texas. They have won 11 of 13 games against the Rangers since last season.

Hiroki Kuroda will get his 2nd duel against fellow Japanese pitcher Yu Darvish. In their first duel, it was Yu Darvish that won the game after he struck out 10 batters in 8 1/3 innings en route to a 2-0 win. Expect Kuroda to bring his A-game on Tuesday to get a win for the Yankees.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed the Texas Rangers as a 1.5-point favorite to beat the New York Yankees on Tuesday night.
