2013 MLB ALCS Game 4:Boston Red Sox vs. Detroit TigersOctober 16, 2013 by Marc Jerbs

On Wednesday, Game 4 of the 2013 American League Champions Series between the Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers will be played at the Comerica Park in Detroit, MI. First pitch is set to start at 8PM ET. Boston holds a 2-1 ALCS lead.

Game three of the ALCS; it was another pitching battle between Boston's John Lackey and Detriot's Justin Verlander. However, one run was enough for the Red Sox to take the series lead in the ALCS. It was Mike Napoli's homer in the 7th inning and John Lackey's superb pitching that clinched the game.

The Detroit Tigers do have a superb pitching staff that could very well put them into the World Series. However, their bullpen blew a 4-point lead in Game 2 and in Game 3 their offense was non-existent. The Tigers' starting pitchers have done their homework but the bullpen and batters must also perform well in Game 4.

Jake Peavy will take the mound for the Boston Red Sox in Game 4. The Detroit Tigers will counter with Doug Fister. The sportsbook handicappers have installed the Detroit Tigers as the favorite to win Game 4 of the ALCS.
