2012 NBA Playoffs:Miami Heat at New York KnicksMay 02, 2012 by Marc Jerbs

On Thursday, the 1st round playoff series between the Miami Heat and New York Knicks move to the Madison Square Garden. The NY Knicks will host games 3 to 4 and possibly tie the series at two games apiece.

The NY Knicks started the playoffs undermanned and most of its players are under 100% healthy. Adding insult to injury, they lost Iman Shumpert in Game 1 and will no longer play throughout the playoffs.

In Game 2, the New York made some adjustments to stay close against Miami but eventually wilted during the 2nd half when their opponent switch their gears to hyperdrive.

At the end of the game, the story was not about going back to New York with a 2-0 series deficit. But it was All-Star power forward Amare Stoudemire injury he suffered by punching the glass box of the fire extinguisher going into the dugout.

The Knicks are already missing the services of Jeremy Lin and Iman Shupert. Adding Stoudemire to the list is a big a headache for New York. Carmelo Anthony is all alone in Game 3 when they face Miami.

The Miami Heat is in cruise control in their first two games against the Knicks. The trio of James, Wade and Bosh has notched up their games with a lot more intensity and focus. Miami's role players have stepped up also led by Mike Miller, Shane Battier, Udonis Haslem and Mario Chalmers.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed the Miami Heat as the favorite to win Game 3 against the New York Knicks. New York is clearly undermanned in this series, getting their first win in the series would be difficult but through hard work and determination it is possible to beat the Miami Heat.
