2010 NBA Finals Game 3:LA Lakers at Boston CelticsJune 08, 2010 by Bryan Polks

On Tuesday night, the Boston Celtics plays the LA Lakers in Game 3 of the 2010 NBA Finals at the TD Garden. The series is tied at 1-game apiece with the Celtics wresting the home-court advantage away from the Lakers.

The Lakers were caught napping in Game 2 by the Celtics at Staples Center. Veteran Ray Allen was so hot at the 3-point area in the 1st half and then came Rajon Rondo who was virtually unstoppable in the last 5-minutes of the 4th quarter. The Celtics won the game by impo more in the painted area; they hustled on every loose ball, and let Rondo control the flow of the game.

It's now Coach Phil Jackson's turn to make a series of adjustments in Game 3. The Lakers were in disarray in Game 2 especially in the last 5 minutes of the 4th quarter. Ron Artest's superb defense against Paul Pierce went for naught after his abysmal 1-10 FG shooting in Game 2. Expect the Lakers to come out more focus and functional as a team in Game 3. They are the defending champions; every game is important and control of the series is the key to win in the NBA Finals.

The Celtics look listless and toothless in their Game 1 loss, but it was the other way around in Game 2. Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo provided the offense while the big men controlled the boards. Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett must improve their FG shooting in Game 3. If the Big Three and Rajon Rondo bring their A-game consistently, they could control the series.

The sportsbook handicappers have installed the Boston Celtics as a 2-point favorite to beat the LA Lakers and claim a 2-1 series lead on Tuesday night.
