Pitchers Phil Hughes and Joba Chamberlain have blossomed and gained a lot of confidence during the season. Alex Rodriguez and Mark Teixeira are tearing apart opposing pitchers. As you can see, the Yankees are a dangerous team from positions 1 to 9. The veteran players have bonded well with their young and homegrown talented teammates.
The defending champs Phillies are a confident bunch of players and they also have the tools to counter the Yankees in every department. They have ace pitcher Cliff Lee to counter CC Sabathia, power hitters Ryan Howard and Shane Victorino and closer Brad Lidge. These could be an enticing and toe-to-toe battle between two great baseball teams. Heck, that's why it is called the World Series; you must beat the best to be the best.
